The city of Washington is the nation's capital, but it is also the home of over 600,000 individuals.  The firm has developed an expertise in representing D.C. residents and citizen groups in the dealings with the District of Columbia government.

One practice area involves local land use decisions, and the firm has represented clients before the local Zoning Commision, Board of Zoning Adjustment and Historic Preservation Review Board in cases affecting local neighborhoods. The firm has also represented citizens and citizen groups in litigation challenging adverse decisions

The principal of the firm, Cornish F. Hitchcock, has also represented citizens exercising their rights under local law to place initiatives on the D.C. ballot, both in proceedings before the District's Board of Elections and Ethics, as well as litigation over the Board's proceedings.

Mr. Hitchcock has also represented clients before the Council of the District of Columbia, both in terms of working with individual clients to resolve issues and testifying before the Council on legislative proposals.
